Club building question about .355 tapered shafts

I ordered a set of .355t graphite shafts for my ZING irons. They are listed as ALL being "41.5" long, cut to length, artwork on the inside". This is a first for me. All the tapers I have ever bought were (steel) descending lengths and each shaft assigned to a specific club. When I tip trim parallel .370 shafts, I thought I was making the tip stiffness consistent across the set. How does this work for tapered shafts that are all the same length?

What ? HuH ? Single length iron shafts ? Can't see how they would work.....

Yeah....I would call....the only shafts that I know of that are butt cut only and full length are the Humps.....every taper shaft I've ever seen made for irons come in dedicated lengths.

Hopefully you will get some info after contacting them.

Sounds like these were T/Made TP hybrid shafts. Length + weights stand out.

2.1 torque?? 😜......these gonna be a might rough on an old feller.

sdandrea1 #1 thing that comes to mind is ......when has T/Made ever had iron shafts heavier than 65 gr.? The torque (value) is quite low for a graphite iron shaft, esp. in R flex. Steel iron shafts are typically 1. to 2.. .355 shafts are most always 'club specific'.

He needs to post the buttend of these shafts so a buyer can see the factory label with specifics. (There used to be a seller on Ebay that sold those Penley Stealth, etc., shafts, in sets also. Close inspection of the factory label would show ALL 8-9 shafts as being for the 1 iron!!)

I remember Mercury did not have a trim chart for their shafts and they just recommended butt trim only. It drove people nuts.

Possibly. I think the Apollo humps steel were butt trim only also.

sdandrea1 Probably not, unfortunately. But, there should be a label on the buttend that might give a tell as to what the shafts are exactly. I'm doubting they were iron shafts, myself. Not sure if T/Made used .355 in their TP iron sets, or if they even made RBZ TP irons or hybrids.

These shafts should be from 2013 as that is the year they used the RBZ graphites. BUT, it only shows RBZ 65 in S, R, & M flexes.

Rickochet The hump was a butt trim only, the profile worked because of the magic hump! I don't know what these are, but I'm thinking hybrid shafts too.

I think I would have just reamed the hosels out to .370 for a better selection of shafts.

You should be able to slightly tip trim these before you'd run out of .355t if you can either check frequency or deflection besides weight sort. I think if it were me I'd send them back and recoup your $$.

Might send them back. I haven't called them yet. I can just as easily hand taper some .370 graphites.

I'm with rex, they may be the hybrid shafts....I checked the OEM shaft replacement guide on Golfworks and also downloaded tmag PDF for the rbz era and the only rbz 85 graphite was for a hybrid.

Just talked to him. These were made for TM RBZ TP irons and hybrids. He says that because the torque is so low, the tip stiffness will feel uniform across the set. Hmmmmm.....

sdandrea1 Thing is, with the low torque/tip stiffness, you'd be as well off with steel shafts. And I don't think that's what you were wanting.

When you are going to be cutting 6-7" from the butt, those shafts are going to not only 'firm' up, they are going to be as stiff as JFK!!😜

sdandrea1 you'd be better off if they were .370 with a bit of pts, at least you could trim a little for the head weight of the shorter irons and then do your own taper. I know some graphite shafts that had a taper and parallel version of each other just grinded the tip for the taper.....if this is the case then there might be some pts to play with......
