I just put these in the bag about a month ago. They are by far the best irons I have ever hit. I have a lot of industry experience and have hit pretty much everything out there. I was a die hard HOgan fanatic for 30 years and these irons are hands down the nicest feeling heads I have ever hit.
I am 52 years old now so my days of playing blades or muscle cavities are behind me. Dealing with tendonitis in both elbows I went with the Alpha Platinum 60 gr graphite shaft. My previous set (Hogan APex Edge Pro) had 90 gram FST steel shafts and I was worried about ballooning considering I can still generate close to 100 mph head speed with my driver.
These 60 gram low torque shafts are pure and the ball flight is dead straight and penetrating. I cannot say enough about this shaft. The 5ir test club initially had the FST steel shaft but my builder put in the Platinum 60 for me to try. Once I hit it with this shaft I immediately got the set built.
If you are young and strong and want to work the ball then these will not be what you want. At my stage in the game and my level of play (7 handicap) these irons have given me back 10-15 years.
I cannot say enough good things about these clubs. They feel like butter and the ball, as the name suggests, just flies off the face.
