Sneakylong I played as a 15 some once. We were having a little outing for the head of the YMCA we played basketball at as he was leaving town. Only 9 hole twilight then we were going to play poker. Anyway as twigoes it was so slow that by the 3rd hole it was so backed up we just all played together. Nobody behind us. It was actually fun if chaotic.

garyt1957 There is a huge scramble every year, cannot recall where, but it has something like a 15-20K 1st prize. I think they have someone following every group.
Of course, a bribe could be quite a bit with that purse.🤔

Yes all 2-man teams. So the group ahead of us had 3 teams playing instead of 2.

It was still a quicker round than you would get at most of the public courses near me. They are all 5 hours these days and it's hard to get a tee time. A slow round for us is usually 4.5. The early tee times can be 3-3.5 hours though which is nice. I don't like getting up at 5am for a 7am tee but you're usually done a lot quicker than if you go off at 9am.

We will play as a 5-some if we go out late with no one around. We'll play something quick where we're not holing everything out and grinding on putts. The only problem with that is there may be a "karen" golfing that sees a 5-some and reports it even when no one is being held up.

I've never seen a 6-some in a 2-man tournament just because a team didn't show. If it was a later tee time they might have sent someone as a marker with them but the 6-some was sent out at 6:50AM so there's no one available.....no drunks at the bar at that hour lol.

There's another tournament this coming weekend but it's individual stroke play and your tee time is based on handicap so there shouldn't be a similar issue. I'm over it now 😁

KCee If shit is really f’ed up I’ll send out out a fivesome. Example is if it’s slammed and the other 3 players in the group cancelled and the guy was a single anyway. I’ll ask him, and I’ll ask the groups behind if they mind, otherwise you’re gonna have a single out there and it’ll end up slower.

Sometimes the league will have a 5 but it’s late and it’s the last group. It’s better than 3 and 2. Often a 5some when it’s packed moves no slower than 4. But 6…. No.
