scotts33 I liked the Apex Pro Forged but the P770 was definitely easier to hit and more forgiving. I struggled with the Apex Pro 5-7 irons but not the P770. I also like that the P770 was only 1* stronger which the fitter adjusted. It tried to buy big SGI irons that day but he pointed out that the LM showed I was better with the smaller irons. The P770 beat out everything except the Miura CB were basically a tie.
I do agree the super strong lofted SGI irons are not always the way to go. Many of my buddies have them and struggle to hold greens. On many par 3's they reach for their hybrid, which is lower lofted, but they can choke down, tee it up and fade something that will hold. This is fine, but then why play those irons?
Most of them know nothing about equipment and have no interest in learning.
