scotts33 πSorry, but I've been on that compression kick for many years. I've stated time and again, best ball for most of us would be 70-80 compression. I'm currently using Callaway Superfast, 75. I was using a similar ball for a few holes and when I switched back I noticed a remarkable difference in feel and distance. I've always tried other balls, of course, but when I play 'for keeps', 70-75 compression is where I like to be.
I do have and like/able to hit very well the ProV1X, about 102 compression. No loss of feel or distance, just a big hole in the wallet if I played them every round.
The Callaway Super Soft is around 50 and I can't play that at all. Too mushy, lost distances(off the tee only though). I do keep track of things in my head.
My rule of thumb has always been.....firmer cover/softer core= slower swing. Softer cover/firmer core=high swing speed.
A 70-75 compression ball is just in the middle of all of that. Goldilocks would have chosen it. @ode ππ
