professor I'm just imagining your trying to maintain your composure as an arbitrator...
Arriving home from a day of work. "How was your day, Honey"? LOL
I get to vent it out when I get home🤣
It's the skill that enables me to not get angered by the opposing views. My job in mediation is to ask questions that enable each party to explore the other's perspectives, look for common ground and help them find a comprimising solution. It's NOT my conflict . It only works when the parties show up in good faith to settle. I do struggle with generational work ethic and expectations that counter mine, but it's a learned skill to recognize my internal bias and keep it out of the mix. It's NOT my conflict. I have a stake in this disagreement, but keep reminding myself that I don't befriend or dislike anyone based on your political views. It's not personal.
In this thread, besides the relief I get from venting my distaste for the personal attributes of POTUS, I've endeavored to understand the people who can ignore his atrocious behaviors and still fail to explain why they support him. I do have one buddy who admits TRUMP is a complete POS, but just couldn't bring himself to vote for Harris. I get that. He now regrets his decision as he watches Trump go completely off the rails in his 2nd term and is now in fear of where we're headed.
Most of what I see in here is denial, IMO.
