I'm 70 and swing speed is ~ mid to high 80's. Not going to hit my driver carry distance over 200 yards. The three courses we have been playing the most are at ~ 5400+, 5600+ and 5700+ yards.
If you use the 5 hybrid rule of 36 times distance (150-160 for me) you come up with 5400 - 5760 yards. So I'm playing tees appropriate for me.
My two golf buddies are 78 and 86 and they play the most forward tees. Still at those tees they can't hit hardly any greens in regulation.
This is why the USGA's mission should be to look into increasing distance for 99% of golfers and not reducing distance for the 1% of golfers. Morons all of them.
USGA's mission statement should read. To make the game easier thus more enjoyable for the masses and not harder and less enjoyable.
