My son did that somehow one time. Must have swayed forward ferociously and banged the ball into the ground with the bottom of the club. Left a giant round impression in the sole and ruined my Golfsmith Black Box driver.

Same damn thing happened to me when I let one of my coworkers borrow a like new (at the time) Acer XF driver that I had in the “stash” corner…he returned it with a big crater on the heel side of the sole!! Needless to say…this XF obviously doesn’t have enough MOI…what a POS head 😜😆🤣🤣

VigilanteTrail I think my wife's cousin or uncle did that to the Infiniti driver I had in the bag I kept at my inlaw's in AZ. One time I visited right after they had been there and there was a big dent (with dimples!) in the heel. Neither of them or my father-in-law claim they did it, but I know my wife's cousin was an absolutely horrible golfer but he's a big guy and generates a lot of speed.

Our Rental clubs are all banged up in those spots. Heel and sole usually. Metal must be pretty thin in those spots

Typhoon I'll admit this now, even if Mike gets pissed. I used to scour Ebay for the SMT DB455 heads with heel dents...found several for just pennies.
Do I need to write the 'rest of the story'? 😆
