Ping MOI claim

Ping claims their new 440k driver has his highest combined Moi ever now. The only thing is, the magazine as, their own website or my Google searches never show an MOI number. They said better than last year…. Assume thy mean the 43010k? IIRC a year or so ago them saying if you put a heavier weight in the rear the moi would be too high and make it illegal. So what’s up with this one?

Par4QC No, but they have to put out that disclaimer so people that use it in competition are aware. Also, I think the SFT was originally put out as illegal because of the fixed weight. Ping offered people the choice of turning in the driver for a brand new one or just keeping what you have.

Typhoon Not saying it's not true, but Ping might have just been promoting product.
If it were illegal in any way/shape/form....how did it pass as conforming? It's not like changing a grip on a club and it becomes non-conforming due to the grip being such, this is an actual part of the club.
I'm doubting something........

The USGA does check MOI. imo, if the club head had movable weights, they would move weights all around and check. I mean, they are assholes.

It's normal now just to make ridiculous claims to the public. Doesn't matter if it's true. Hyperbole is the new normal. That's probably the most MOI in the history of our history.

Preliminary observations from last fall seem to indicate that it is slightly better than my G400 Max which as you say was probably 10k itself.

MOI jacking: my 2008 driver has a combined MOI (around 3 axis) of more then 12.5k ; this is almost twice what USGA allowes (around 1 axis) but it is still conforming.

My son did that somehow one time. Must have swayed forward ferociously and banged the ball into the ground with the bottom of the club. Left a giant round impression in the sole and ruined my Golfsmith Black Box driver.
