How was your golf season??

Title says it all good or bad. I’ll go first. I started my season an 11.1 march 1st. By July 13th I was at 13.4. Something happened not sure what. I started playing much better. Low 80s with a couple blow up holes. If I could just stop the grenade each 9 on my scorecard. On 8/7 I shoot 74 from the back tees and drop to 11.1. Here comes club championship 3 days later. 77/78 I win the net by 3 shots. Dad flies up to visit and golf this past weekend. I shoot 85/71. WTF? I’m now at 8.7. Lowest I’ve been in 20 years. I’m waiting for it to fall apart lol. Anyways a very unusual season. I did start striking it really good in July but those were both scrambles that didn’t count. I have no answer except the lab putter and paradym driver were stellar. I also switched up my irons a bit. 4-7 iron are Adams idea combo hybrids and 8-pw are the top flite tour holy grails. Been a great setup for me. Also tossed the 3 wood out for a heaven wood I bought on here from someone. I will likely crash out here shortly but it’s been a frustrating and super rewarding season so far.

Didn't play hardly at all this year. A couple outings here and there. A few times at the range. Got new irons which I really love and hit well.

But unfortunately for me, this was just a lost year. Work, kids, life, etc. Couple years ago was down in the mid 6's. Currently on paper at 9.6. But again, I just haven't played, and can't even put anything in the books.

Also made some swing changes that really made a difference, but they are only as good as the time I actually play golf to use them.

Hopefully when season rolls around things will settle down and I can get back into playing more.

Wanted to play Desert Storm this year for the first time, but our oldest daughter is getting married. (Nothing big, they are already courthouse married so just a ceremony and a party) Have to fly back for that.

Very sparse. Think I've played 3 full rounds and 2 nines with scores ranging from 104 - 88. Got my iron swing trending in the right direction and then work and young adults finishing up school activities and getting ready for college, and paying for such, put the whammy on me. Now that everyone is at the university and most of the major expenses are out of the way maybe I can have a little fun this fall. Good news was that I got a set of graphite shafts into my MacGregor irons and I think they are going to work out splendidly.

Same as always. I try a new swing every week that works a couple times. My handicap is an even 10 right now simply because I've mostly been playing the slumpbuster. Haven't posted the last few rounds because of them being "practice" rounds with multiple mulligans.

I would have to say about the same. Started the year as a 13, went up to 16 and now back at 13. Was thinking I could drop another stroke or 2, but just too inconsistent with the driver and short game. I played well enough to win money in my league and in some tournaments this year, but probably about the same as last year which was also a decent year.

Like most years, I always think that this is the year I will play more and get more out of my membership, but then I just don't have the free time I think I'm going to have. I could complain, but I'm lucky I can afford a membership and get out more than some people I know.

It's year round. Low score 77, high 91 so far this calendar year. Enjoyed travel senior league matches as we get to play area courses for $35. Fun camaraderie. Blessed to be able to afford a membership and play whenever I want. Club has an awesome staff. Life is good (except for colonoscopy). 😁

Kind of a frustrating season.....I've always played twice a week (Tuesday...Thursday) with regular partners. But
before the season even started, my Thursday partner told me he's giving up the game.....not interested in playing anymore. (I suspect his wife's recent retirement has a LOT to do with that.....SHE doesn't want him going out and
having a good time without her, IMO).

Then, I got started working on my wood deck, removing the 30 year old wood boards and replacing it with Trex.
That took up a lot of time and energy.....much more than I bargained for. Just finished installing new vinyl railings, so hopefully that project is over so I can play a little more.

Long story short, I'm only at 20 rounds so far, where I usually average 40+ per season. My game is about where it was in past seasons.....Index is currently 9.6, and I've shot my age several times, but I hardly ever shoot a real LOW round anymore. It is what it is though, and for a guy who will turn 80 next month, I guess I should be satisfied......

Eguller There’s definitely an off season for us northern folks. GHIN shuts down our posting from November til March. Thank God for football season and simulator golf

My season is really about to start. We have had such horrendous heat around here for the past few months, and work has been quite busy, so I haven't been able to play much.
I have been hitting practice balls in the yard and my swing feels good. I've played a few times at the simulator and hava hit the ball mostly solidly. The driver is the only club that translates really well from the simulator to the real world, because you have the same lie in both situations. My driving is better now than it has been in several years.

I hope that as summer turns to fall I will get more opportunities to go play and see what I can do in real life. My SIM scores have all been in the mid-to-high 70s, and my most recent 9-hole round was a 38, which tracks, so I am hopeful for autumn golf.
