Same issue at my course although it is in transition back to respectable after the prior owner did not spray a chemical on the course.for over two years. Greens started to go mid year last year and they all still have issues, but from where they were, to today, it's a fairly dramatic comeback. The better greens (in the past) are now just starting show.some issues....thankfully that is only a couple. Now that they are better I can see the unrepaired marks and they are plentiful, whereas before they were hard to find, still are to an extent but I fix what I see . Sometimes it's none and sometimes it's upwards to 10, that's just around the area I walk.
Not sure why people don't fix. Even my two avid golfing buddies do not. I've given up on trying to address it other than to say, when I fix their mark, "I got your mark", in hopes it will sink inš.
I like a single prong tool, more precise and less likely to do more damage, which is what I see too often. Not only is the ball mark not repaired but they just dug 8 holes around itš¤.
I applaud the effort to do something about it!
