The industry is not regulated. I could put water from my backyard hose into plastic bottles and call it Arcadia Springs spring water and there is nothing to stop me. At least municipal water is periodically tested

Yeah, I trust Zephyrhills, Poland Springs and Nestle over our municipalities. This is Florida after all.

Can't beat good well water. No plastics no chemicals.

jsippy73 ain't that the truth!! The barn is used to work at had some fantastic tasting well water. It was about the same as a bottle of Fiji water, came out of the tap nice and cold too.

It depends. Unfortunately PFAS aka forever chemicals, including pesticides/herbicides and heavy metals are now present in ground water.

The people that live in the next town over that have wells AND white vinyl fences now have orange vinyl fences from the well water from the sprinklers.

I'm sure they have water softeners/ iron filters for household water. My out side water does not go thru my water softener. Had my well for 47 years and the water is great. No chlorine, floride or other whatever they do to municipal water. And it's free.

What kind of piping?

Our city is now on the 'hunt'. Lead & galvanized piping into homes. Which of course they were all built back when such was used.
If it is such a big deal, why did they only do 100 homes all of last year, out of a city that has over 20K residents?

Very similar to the extortion racket that General Electric is running in my kitchen.

I just found out that by law, manufacturers are required to supply a bypass plug with the unit. Allowing owners/users the opportunity to not filter the water. Or more accurately negate the obligation to pay Home Depot $53.99 +tax every 6 months at the relentless henpecking of their spouse.

GE even has a number to call for a free replacement plug, should you not be able to locate the original. Which I am going to search for after I hit the post button.

stroh I just a YT video on this recently. Supposedly their cartridge filters don't even filter much out. I always bought cheap filters off Amazon for our fridge, but I'm going to see about getting that bypass since we already have an external filter for the fridge.

Ok, first off, the water filter in the shower. Would you go to a filthy pond before work or a date and dump the water on yourself to rinse off? No, you want to rinse off with clean water…. Well I do anyway.

And on painting the floor…people paint their GARAGE floors which seems like a waste because it’s a garage. Painting linoleum floors is a thing. They sell kits to do it.ill have to send a picture of the linoleum countertop in the bathroom that my wife did that can’t be told from granite. It’s amazing. It’s a 2 day process. She did it before and bought stencils as well for a pattern and it’s all covered over with poly. This time she wanted a darker color floor. Should be dry today. It’s not 90 year old Rex on his hands and knees with a can of oil based paint and a horse hair brush….😂
