Typhoon The white one is the one that looked bad.
It should, from the carbon side discoloring it. I really don't think there's much to worry about, just going on the nasty looking color, except showing that it is time to change it. Like I said, they are reasonably priced so you can change as you see fit, just for peace of mind.
If you'd really like to know, you could always run a test on the water, before it goes into the filter, then check it again when the filter looks as that one does.
You should have the water around here(I don't drink it). Straight from Ol' Muddy!! Been a lot of bodies pulled out of that place, some still in there too🤣. And every city in the area has a 'different' water....in taste and smell, hardness. Go figure. All different systems for some very strange reason. But the water all comes from the same place.
