KCee I had never had Hisense previously, but had heard good things and the price was right.

I've heard Costco's 100 inch HiSense tv experiment has gotten crazy good reviews on the quality of the tv and the price. 100" tv for that price, yeah. But people are saying the tv itself is really good.

Unfortunately I have no place to put one.

stroh It's funny we went from 50" to 65" which is a decent jump, but that was the most we could fit in the living room as it's between 2 windows.

I suggested either re-arranging the living so that there could be a larger TV on the inside wall that the couch is up against or re-arranging the family room and putting a huge TV on the big wall there. Neither option was agreeable to my wife as she has taken over the family room as an art studio and likes how the living room is now.

Maybe once my youngest is gone I could take over the room in the basement and fit a bigger TV, but I'm already at the downsizing phase of my life so that will probably never happen. I may be back to a 50" TV soon 😞

Man. You're right. I will find a way. It's my obsessive disorder. Of course it's way too wide for the cliche` spot over the fireplace. No decent working free wall space. We have 2 console/credenza/buffet pieces.(Whatever term you use in your part of the country.). Both currently have 70 and 75 inch tv's on them. I measured. 100" would hang over on each side. I would be pacing with an eye twitch indefinitely.

I may just buy a new house. It's been done.

I have 4 32" TV's and one 42". They are "dumb" TV's that I got before "smart" tv's came out. 4 are RCA and one is Visio. All bought at Walmart. A 32" RCA at my desk croaked two weeks ago so I pulled it's twin from the workshop. This one might be an LED TV. The screen is super bright. They all have the same crappy speakers so I have a Zvox sound box hooked to it that allows me to adjust the center sound channel to help my old ears with dialogue. Works sort of ok. I get good cable from my local electric company that also provides phone and internet. I stream stuff with an Amazon Fire Stick. I have everything I need. I have been looking for a new 32" with better speakers built in but that is like searching for a unicorn. Plus everything is "smart" which is shit I don't want or need. Just more shit to screw up and break.

Had decided to go with the Samsung, but when we got to Costco, both my wife and I thought the picture on the LG looked better.

We asked the worker which 50-inch he would choose for himself, and he answered that he would take the LG.

It was a sweep. So we bought the LG.

rsvman2 I have an LG in my basement. Have had it for around 9 years, and before that it was used in the hotel community area for a few years. Assembly was in Mexico, but cannot see the date because of the mount. But 'old' by today's standards.
Never a problem, still works perfect.....pic/color/etc..

The sound comes from the top/back. Even if I could hear well, I'd hate that part about it. Always on mute/captions.😉

We have a 60" LG. It's got to be 9 or 10 years old. No problems with it (knock on wood).

Boss lady bought me a 50" vizeo for Christmas one year. She decided that I needed a tv that I didn't fix 1st.
Granted, this was after my 50+" vizeo plasma she was using went out again and she picked up a 50" vizeo led, and after I fixed the 40" Samsung that had the screen go black.
The 50" replaced the Samsung i was using, and that one went back to her spare room, for me to watch when I was house sitting.

I think my son has that or another like it. I've been tempted. The biggest reason for holding off is that I
like the lineup of channels my local provider has for me. If they'd just get better at keeping it working
for me I'd be happy but it's down so often it drives me crazy. Of course they play the game at least half
the time I call that it's not their equipment that's not working, it's mine. My modem is brand new. I
installed it when they did the "upgrade" and bought what they told me to buy.

mulegolf in all probability, you'll save a chunk of $$ swtlitching over to youtube.
Plus no cable boxes to contend with. Place your TV anywhere in the house. Chances are youtube will have all the channels you desire (check their channel lineup on line).
Not sure now but they did offer a free 30 day (or 60, don't remember) trial period.

One negative-switching channels can be clunky but us senior citizens adapted quite quickly.

propman We have YouTube TV and it is really good, but it's also over $80 now. Was about $40 when we first got it. I do like the unlimited DVR feature. Now that we have only 1 kid that is hardly around and me not watching a lot of tv it seems too expensive....or I'm just getting cheaper in my old age.

KCee no doubt it's gone up in price.
But where us empty nesters live still alot cheaper than cable and much less of a hassle to deal with.

propman I do like it, but just internet alone is $120 for us now and then adding YT TV puts us at $200. Doesn't even include Netflix or anything else we may be signed up for. Feel like I'm basically back at cable. Unfortunately we have basically 1 choice for hi speed internet here so we get bent over for that.

If you can get it in your area get T Mobile home internet. I pay $50 a month for life. I think they are offering it for $35 now. No hookups of any kind. Just a cellular router. Have that plus YouTube TV for years.
Others also offer the cellular internet. ATT, Verizon.

jsippy73 I looked at cellular but no one is offering here. Maybe because we don't have good cell service here. Verizon said they were going to but still haven't. I can go less than a mile away and would have many options, but not here.
