Callaway Steelhead irons....XR irons.

What's the diff? I'm too lazy to look it up. I demoed the Steelheads for 18 holes yesterday and fell in love. Should I bother demoing the XR irons?

Hit the Steelhead XR and Steelhead XR Pro today. Both are very good. I liked Steelhead XR Pro with XP 105 s300 or Recoils. Both are very long with the Callaway Cup Face design.

I also hit the CF16 with Recoil. Very very nice. My oldest son (xp95) and brother in law (kbs tour) are gaming them. Now I have a set one the way with Steelfiber 115s.

My g25's are in trouble given those used Adams Pro Golds with i95s steelfibers now have me wanting a less forgiving profile.

I must say, I also liked the forged Wilson f7 and PING i200 irons. Epic, epic SZ, TM 17 m1 are also winners.

Did you buy the Apex CF16 or the Steelheads?

P.S. The i200 head is beautiful!

Bought the CF 16 with Steelfibers. I liked the Steelhead Pros with recoils and would have gone that route if buying new. Uncharge for Steelfibers is way too high if buying new.

My experiment with the Adams Forged Pro Gold cavity backs w/Steelfibers is costing me some coin. I'm hitting them far better than expected especially from the rough. I'm sure there is a swing or two a round that I would be better with the PING.

Similar experience here. I used some store credit and tried a set of Adams Pro a12 irons recently. I hit them WAY better than I thought I would have. Not sure why. Maybe playing GI and SGI irons got me sloppy? I have the original X14 Steelheads in the bag right now and they are really solid feeling irons. The game seems more fun/challenging when playing a smaller headed iron, although the X14 doesn't really qualify as a player's club. I'd call it a mid-size.

My neighbor just bought a new set of the Apex CF16 with Recoils. Cha-ching. Nice looking club.

Samsung S7? Is that the one that catches fire? If it is getting ready to spontaneously combust, keep it out of your golf room. Would hate to see dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of pristine used clubs go up in flames!!!!

I'm OK Limp. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was the firebomb, not the S7. No fires here. 😉
