Adapters are aluminum. And aluminum has no limit when it comes to stress failure, like steel has. Repeated pounding will eventually cause a breakage. As has been asked about, if the screw is not tight, it advances that possibility of breakage.
And never use a torch, which the excess heat will also cause a breakdown of the aluminum strength.
I am assuming these adapters are not being made with aluminum that has been properly heat treated. I do not see that in pricing, at least. And no doubt with them not being made in the U.S., the aluminum quality is to be highly suspect anyway. Pores...inclusions, etc.. I have personally seen them when checking inside the adapters prior to assembly.
Would be interesting to know how many adapters the LD tour breaks every year.🤔
