High School Reunion

We're headed to Tucson next week for my wife's 40th high school reunion. I don't believe I went to any of my high school reunions.

Typhoon No interest in seeing how poorly most have aged.

My class should hold ours at Porky's. migawd those people got fat. I seriously think I could walk in and not be recognized by anyone. Not even my ex sister-in-law.

They have been having a 'get together' every month the past couple years around my hometown. Maybe 15 or so go, same ones always. Always at some place to eat, of course, at lunch time. They have another scheduled for July and it is also to be our 55th. BUT....it's on a Monday, as usual, mid day. WTF. I may be down there 2 weeks after that so not planning to go to this. Haven't seen ~~some~~ most of them since graduation, and no common interests. And thanks to FB, I know most about several of their lives since graduation!!
Never been to any of them since '71.....the 1st one.

Several...way too many... have passed away....from only 80+ in the class.

I can see for folks that lived in one place and schools from their hometown.

Never been to one, granted I attended 3 HS, 2 in DoD in Germany where I graduated, hard to say I have long term loyalty. Same with either place I have a degree.

I went to my 25th. My 50th is this year but I have no interest in going.

I went to a private high school and graduated in '68. I went to my 5 year anniversary but none since. They still have a quarterly gathering at a local watering hole but it has turned into a fund raiser for the school. It's an hour drive to and from to see maybe 4 people I remember to get my pocket picked. No thanks.

We attend ours fairly regularly, as we still live in the same town where our high school is located. In fact, we just had an "80 Year Birthday Party," as we'll all be turning 80 this year. I was glad to see one guy who was one of my best friends in high school, but who I have not seen since (his work moved him to California right after college). Fun seeing members of our graduating class, and yes, several are in pretty poor shape. It serves as a reminder to me (and Mrs. Fatshot) to keep walking and exercising in general to stay as healthy as possible going forward.

I went to my 10-yr high school reunion. Wasn’t many people there because most had moved away or out of state. Very small school. Haven’t been back since.

I stopped into my 10 yr. reunion, said hi to a couple of people I wanted to see and left. I did go to my 25th
and 50th reunions. Actually had a pretty good time at the 50th. By 50 years after graduation all of the "I'm better
than you" people have for the most part gotten over it. That said, our class was exceptional. Even in high school
we mostly got along. We took a class trip to Lutsen Lodge, a vacation lodge along the North Shore of Lake Superior
96 miles NE of Duluth, MN. We had 122 in our class and 118 went on the trip. We had the whole lodge to ourselves.
It was the week before their official spring opening that year. We had raised money all through school and most of
the trip was free. We even hired a rock band from Duluth and had a private dance there. When we got back home we
had money left over a donated it ($700) to the school. Lutsen is 700 miles from my home town.

I attended my 35th & 40th year reunions. Could not attend the 45th. 50th is coming up in 2 years years. I graduated in a class of near 500. I was surprised how many folks I remembered & remembered me. Had good visits with old HS band members mostly. Best part has been our reunion golf outings - we have a good time even though our individual games aren’t great.

Been out 61 years - class of 1964. Large class - around 600+...Left area right after graduation and lost touch for years. Not interested - re-connected with a few friends and we stay in touch with each other and when in Florida we get together have a few brews and tell lies...That's all I need...

My 50th class reunion is this year and I plan on going. Although, I don't keep in touch regularly with anyone from my class, I do have an urge to see some of them, especially my football teammates. We did not have a 45th year reunion, due to Covid. I've been to the 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th year ones. I think every five is a bit much, especially if no one is that close in friendship and proximity. At least three of them have been in a park with a Pizza truck and they have that planned for the 50th. Funny thing, a couple girls who have never been at any of them are complaining that this one should be more formal. Then they should do all the legwork to make that happen or otherwise shut up, attend or don't attend.

I went to my 5, 10 & 30th('84). I went to my wife's 20th, ('87 same school) which I had more friends there than her. Haven't been back. I already see most of the people I want to see, from our high school.

Went to my 10th back in 1983. None since. Actually, my best buddies were either older or younger than me. I could count on 2 fingers how many high school mates were long term friends.
Now college was a different story.
