garyt1957 The guy also gave him some swing tips which I think helped more than the club.
This is so true in my experience it's more the swing and the archer than the arrow. No doubt slight tweaks with equipment can help but not to a huge deal that most make it out to be especially mid to high hdcp skill level golfers which make up 75%+ of all golfers.
Case in point last week I fit a a 14 GHIN 55 yr old male player who has a definite swing flaw open shoulders to target line slight OOT fade push never hit his driver over 225 and could not find a draw if his life depended on it. He fit best in a Swing Science FC-One Pro driver with a closed face angle 50g SS Ion "R" shaft at 44.75". Helping him understand his swing with video and better explanation on set up with grip, alignment and targeting helped him to hitting a number of great drives all draws 250 and up. Just the tips and understanding the golf swing helped him more than any equipment and I see this over 60% of the time.
Golfers want to believe that spending their moola on new equipment will improve their game but in reality it's understanding your swing and makes some slight changes to build a solid repeatable swing. And for those that say they can't make some changes that's the mind of a closed minded person I gotta do it my way person and for myself with a independent business it's sayonara baby not worth investing my time.
Always like to hear from guys that say shaft makes so much of a difference IF they were fit with a decent match up to start. It's in general the tips of like don't rush from the top etc that make more of difference than a different shaft. I want to hear from them 6 months from now I am getting on average every driver 15 yards more every driver shot. I say BS! ☺
