Had a Cobra LTDx LS that I got last summer for Jake. He never used it much preferring his Titleist TSr4. Earlier this Spring I got the driver back from him with thoughts of selling as I don't need it.
Saturday we were playing an out of town course and 1 of the fellas was looking for a new driver, so I took it for him to try. He seemed to hit it OK, just stared playing last year, kind of 'errant' off the tee at times, but decided he didn't like it as it is only a 9* head. No problem, I'll find a buyer.
Was cleaning up the clubs a couple days ago and while the driver head still has zero marks anywhere, I did think the face was cracked. Dug out the magnifier, put on the cheaters, and damn...cracked.
In defense of the fella that tried it Saturday, I did hit it a couple times the day I got it back from Jake and it sounded like crap but 'went the distances'; I even said something to Jake to that affect. So, possibly it was done when Jake was hitting it. But, the crack never showed til now.
Not knowing how Cobra is to deal with on such things I did some searching and found their warranty is for 2 years, or 1 year from date of sale....but if more than 2...no go. Decided to give it a shot as I found the purchase date was last 5/29. Sent them an email explaining things and waited for reply. Heard from them yesterday....wanted pics and receipt copy. Finally got them all sent this a.m..
Just heard back from them.....do not send head or shaft back.....dispose of as I see fit.
Brand new Aerojet LS 9*, complete with shaft, is on the way!!! ๐ฒ
