I play a 10.5 degree driver cranked up to 12 degree which closes the face and heel weighted as well for straighter shots.

Play a 3 and 5 wood. 16 degrees and 19 degrees cranked up to 17 and 20 degrees.

Play hybrids 4, 5 and 6.

Play game improvement irons. TM Sim Max OS (7-AW). 54 and 60 degrees wedges with 10 and 12 degree of bounce.

Play a face balanced putter and use the Srixon Soft Feel ball in orange.

Love his short flat swing as well. Has that shaft in line with his trail forearm coming into impact. I changed to a shorter flatter swing awhile back which improved my ball striking greatly.

That's his left handed swing. His right handed swing is not anything like his left handed. I give Matt props who can play golf both ways? Not many.

I’ll have to look at his right handed swing.

Edit: His right handed swing is longer and not as short and flat. But swings (down) below his shoulder. Which is key for me.

Yep if it works for you great! I believe his point is most average to lower skilled rec. players can't commit to a 60* wedge shot and don't' use enough club head speed and flub them, hit them fat and/or chili dip them. I can see that from a lot of players.

I am an “above average” hack and rarely use my 56 deg let alone ever using a 60. I find i get better results flighting down on a 52 or GW (yes my GW is 48), for those 50 to 80 yd shots.

scotts33 I will admit that I have been known to fat a wedge shot more than a few times. That said, I am most at home with my 60°, I can hit my 56, and 52; it just isn't as repeatable as my 60°.
I'm pretty sure the reason I'm so comfortable with it is because my course is small, so even after only getting 170 yards off a tee I'm within range of my 60. Well, that and screwing around on one hole that the white tees are 100 yards from the center of the green. I call that doing stupid shit, I seem to hit the green almost 50% when I do that.

I've never made an equipment mistake. Not even sure how that can be possible. In my world, my life.

BTW, one reason some may like to use 60* isn't a loft thing it's more a bounce thing. Of course depending on your bounce values on a SW vs. a LW. Most 60's are low bounce compared to a SW. Just a thought. ☺

I never use my 60 degree for chipping. Strictly green side bunker play, flop shots and some shots inside 75 yards.

I don’t carry a 60 degree , but I bought a 64 degree to play one course with deep/hard bunkers and tree protected greens so I could get out of or go over all the green side obstacles. I saved some strokes with it, but I was always afraid I was going to hit the ball right into my face.

I love my 3 wood. No 60* though. Often don't even carry a gap wedge or sand wedge.
