Some good picks there. Steve Jobs was a visionary. He became a billionaire from Pixar the graphics design arm of Lucas Films. Disney eventually bought it and the main building is named after him.
Jobs wasn’t an engineer, but brilliant at design and marketing. He once said paraphrasing, how do you know what people want? His answer was I’m going to show them what they want.
His analogy was that he was the conductor of an orchestra. After his ouster in 1985 it wasn’t the same. Bringing him back was crucial to Apples success today.
I remember in 1998 when Apple was $10.00 a share. Unfortunately I didn’t buy any myself. My best stock pick was Imclone Systems. That’s the stock Martha Stewart went to jail for.
Read about it in Individual Investor magazine before anyone heard of it. Bought $1000 dollars worth. Saw that investment go to $25,000.
Unfortunately I didn’t sell. Didn’t need the money and their cancer drugs were still in phase trials. I’m pretty good at picking stocks, but horrendous at knowing when to sell.
That’s why we have someone else doing that now. lol
