Does anyone do it when installing a different shaft?

I would totally understand this tech for something as flexible as a fly rod. Those things could osscilate WILDLY. I guess any consistent and strong/fast swinger could benefit.

Nice work on the NF9 Scott. I still have my NF2. It was a fun build project on it's own.

Didn't Tutelman build a test jig that attached to a shaft tip and rotated it around the clock to test how orientation effected flo? Man, back in that time what a fun time it was to tinker.

Rickochet NF2 applied differential deflection on a dial indicator Rick like yours shows. That dial indicator IMO was a great way to display differences in the spines of Type 1 and Type 2 shafts. And yes there was a tip toggle test rig that Dave T. came up with.
