SMT azgreg hahaha, I have been watching and listening to the same, brutal rhetoric for over 50 years. They have zero chance on fixing it. It is like the Chicago Teacher's Union. Begging and fighting for a new contract every 15 minutes.
Par4QC SMT May we assume that could be attributed to a few people killed this year.....that did some killings last year? Makes sense. To me. It is Chicago, correct?
jsippy73 Running out of people to kill? I lived in Des Plains, Il. 1968 i think, when I was already halfway thru 11th grade, one of the 6 High Schools I went to (real fun). Used to go downtown Chicago. It was safe then, I think.
propman jsippy73 back in 1973 and 74, drove a yellow cab in Chgo (mainly in the summer). The bulletproof glass between me and the passenger will attest to how safe it was. As a sidenote to gun laws, fireworks were and still are illegal in Chicago. As an 11yr old, had no problem buying them.
pellmell [deleted] Chicago does not exist in a vacuum. With no background checks required for private sales of long guns and hand guns in neighboring states, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri, everyone from Illinois has unfettered access to guns.
LBlack14 I'm sure the killers are just passing their guns back and forth amongst themselves, to avoid background checks, ya know. Shithole.
johnnydoom sdandrea1 Yes. No need to cross a state line, which also breaks the law if it's a handgun. Stolen ones are sold on street same as drugs and flesh.
Bravopilot johnnydoom Understand, same with drugs, it is the people. One thing about these discussions, never gray area.
