Par4QC Typhoon Well now, I just gotta ask 1 damn question about this. The stones they throw......are they something participants bring with them, or do they all just meet at a river and have to choose stones from the area? I'm thinking they have manufactured stones and manufactured 'rivers'...water pools. I'll be watching these games right after I watch hockey. And Squash matches. iow...never.....

mulegolf It seems BS to me how they count the skips. They're up in the 20's some times and I find that hard to believe... it's also hard to believe they can even count skips when the stone gets to just "floating" on top of the water.

I watched some of one match because when I was younger I skipped a lot of stones and got pretty good at it. The match I watched they came up with how many skips the stone did about as soon as the stone submerged in the water. I don't know how the slow motion high resolution cameras work but I don't think I could watch a replay and count the skips that quick. It could all be misunderstanding on my part but either way I don't think I'll be spending nearly as much time watching this as I did skipping rocks in my younger years.

Weirfan Why not, is any less a sport than golf or chess , archery, Then there are the other official sports like Wife carrying ( i bet some of us could be world champs) Cheese rolling Worm charming And of course Rock , Paper, Scissors
