jsippy73 I just shipped a 2 lb tube that was 47 in x 4 in x 4 in to Paul in New Mexico for under $12. No up charge for over 30 anything.

jsippy73 Have you thought about OfferUp in your area? Just take pics and post them about $20 over what you want. Someone usually offers your original number that you wanted and you both think you won lol. Don’t even respond to the low ballers

Somebody explain to me how Pirate Ship works. UPS, USPS whoever decides on a price they need to ship an item. Pirate Ship comes in and takes a cut and you get a way lower price. How does that work?

I'm guessing that PirateShip cut a deal with carriers to bring them more business. They each take a cut. I'm assuming that PirateShip is just is a website run by some genius in his/her mom's basement. Just a broker. I'll get you a big jump in demand if you'll grant lower prices and I keep X%. Just guessing?

Not unlike Amazon, they are able to use higher volume of packages to negotiate lower rates with their shipping providers.

i use a service up here names flagshipcompany which is basically the same as pirateship. I save anywhere from 30-70% over using the shippers directly and choice of who ai want to use and what timeline etc. then print the label and the package is either picked up or I drop it off at UPS/Purolator or whomever I decide on

sdandrea1 Yea, I get that but half price? And unlike Amazon who everyone knows about I've never met a person who knows about Pirate Ship when I tell them about it. And since they offer multiple shipping options I just don't see the benefit to the carrier. Cut your rate up to 50%, give a cut to another company, how does that work? Obviously it does or they wouldn't participate.

I see this all too often. Somebody selling something but ignoring the current market in hopes that there's a sucker out there who will over pay. They might get lucky if they're patient. When I decide to part ways with something, I want it gone quickly.

PayPal also has reduced rates over individual websites shipping. And sometimes cheaper than Pirate Ship. For my uses/from my experiences.

Par4QC Seems logical to me. Again, low cost for volume did not help UPS' bottom line and why they are stopping Amazon delivery.

This explains it better. Big companies/corporations always get reduced pricing. Volume shipping.
Pirate Ship's pricing to us is still above what they will pay out, yet sometimes big savings for us. Easy money, sitting at home. And their volume is 'ghosted' through us, shipping packages. Genius.

Founded in 2014, it aggregates its customers' shipping volume.........
