Typhoon A lot of the bad part is the wrists, but I've always been pretty flexible and I can turn a lot. I lose control and then can't always square the face. I used to regrip at the top...no idea how I did that, but part of it was due to too small grips. On rare occasions I could hit it a mile with the right timing, but I'm no John Daly.
My current feel is to take the club almost straight back with a square face and don't cock my wrists. My feeling of zero wrist cock is really the right amount. Sort of the same with a 1/2 swing feeling is actually a good full swing. I also try to keep my right elbow connected to my body. If the elbow gets free I am usually in trouble.
It definitely worked this past season. I played fewer rounds, but dropped my handicap back to 13 and shot a few 79's again. That was with a crappy short game too as I didn't practice much at all....why practice if you can't play? I always have to watch for a "fix" going the wrong way though. I start out slouching, get to good posture, but eventually I will be standing too tall. If I start the season slicing, I will be hooking it by the end of the season.....just how I roll lol
