Description of feel, flight distance , general impression of new Wright Brothers graphite shafts; inquiring minds want to know ? ?? Did you increase graphite shaft lengths over steel shafted ones?
Glad to know I'm not only one into ditch digging with those irons.
So, she beat you again , eh?
Next project Ping Eye 2 refurbishing

Shafts are def on the heavy side for me at 85g. But feel is good for a stout shaft. Ball flight is typical eye 2....high and straight. I cut them 1/4 inch longer than PING std length. Swingweight came in at D0. Distance-wise, clubs are one club shorter for me.
Picked up eye2 + SW 53 for my "set"
Now have in bag:
eye2 sw 57.5 (aka lob wedge)
eye2+ sw 53 ( sand wedge)
Eye2+ pw 48.5
Eye2+ 9 44
Eye2 8 40
Eye2 7 36
Eye2+ 6 31
Eye2 5 28.5*
Probably also will use the 2 ping eye SWs with my mp57s as they fit in for lofts , MIZZY PW IS 47#9 is 43, etc

Knowing you've " several " choices in the closet , think you'll give the newly shafted Wright Brothers eye 2s another outing in near future ?

Probably not. I am a MUCH better player with irons that have wider soles, stronger lofts and more bounce grind. I do love the wedges tho!

Great to know what works for you, I'm still sorting through options with little real feel for which plays my best. I prefer look and feel of classic forged cavity back like my mp57s with DG 300r and prosoft inserts. On dry conditions and decently lush lies, they are fine. When playing wet conditions or not swinging well, raptures do better. Still figuring out where the eyes are for me but thinking they could work about as well as any thing if I can move away from digging consistently. My big issue in last two years has been injuries but I'm determined that they will not stop me. Bought a Copper fit elbow sleeve this morning. Not sure if bad elbow was from building deck project , shoveling dirt for filling in where old pool was, or trying out the "new" eye+ SW I found at pias. Couldn't be golf to blame!
I should have waited until I regriped and prosofted it but again need for instant gratification strikes. It is immensely better since I redid it! Don't think I would even try steel shafts with out them
Every attempt to return to steel is short lived for me. Since my shoulder replacement, I think I am a graphite for life player.
Typhoon wondering if you ever tried your 7 iron experiment
Teaser!

The graphite shafts are so much more sr friendly , I'll have to stay with them mostly too, but when I start feeling frisky you never know what I might try . Even steel shafted eye 2s. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age. I got a set of WilsonDeepRedII distance irons from Hootinfrack on fgi that have the graphite fat shafts I really like. Easy to get distance and straight. Muted feel but fat shafts are low torque so dispersion is pretty good . Soles are not nearly as wide as my Raptures which I prefer if course is not squishy wet.
I probably would have better chance of improving if I'd just settle on one set and stay with it . Guess I just enjoy trying new clubs too much
Provisional
I too enjoy the dalliances. Changes hurt my scores tho as i don't adapt that quickly.

sdandrea1 The Eye 2 iron is a digger. Be careful out there.
Uh oh. Now I find out these are diggers. I take huge divots anywho. The Eye 2's might be wrist breakers for me. BTW the set of Eye 2's I recently snagged looked as good if not better than yours, so maybe I didn't get beaters after all.
If anyone hand sands graphites to .355 be sure to use some shafting beads. This will help take care of any irregularities if you over sand some.
I was poking around ebay and I saw a bunch of 7 and 8 shaft .355 taper graphite sets for under $100.
Typhoon The different look at address might have caused u to move your hand or ball position. Just a thought on why you're digging. Or maybe just a different feel with that set up?
I bet you'll work it out...nice combo.
I am a digger, not a sweeper. Been doing it for 55 years. My divots look like flying squirrels. It doesn't matter which iron I use I still take big divots.
I'm not a bad digger, but I am with the Eye 2 irons. Especially with the 8, 9, W. I usually catch the ball first, but a chunk of earth follows the ball!
Eye 2 sw and pw I'd take a decent size divot but other than that nothing noticeable.
Don't hurt yourselves!
