It's growing here.
The no frills, open 24 hrs, self serve type with reasonable prices and closed in bays.
The social outing, bar type ones are expensive and most have memberships.
Those are not as popular with the masses around here
So as I’ve said, I’ve worked at one for many years. Our places BYOB and it’s $55/hr. He runs gift card specials where you buy X amount and he gives you another $100 or whatever. We could never have 24 hour … with nobody working there??? These people fuck around with the computer until eventually it crashes. They’d be standing there looking At the camera and yelling for help.
I rarely see anybody any good in there… or in fact at ANY indoor golf place. If anybody decent comes it’s usually to practice, set it up as a range and look at their swing on video.
We have our regulars that I dunno…. Are addicted to booze I think over golf. They never get any better, their sole purpose is to drink and kibbutz.
I work there and I don’t even bother playing on them. I’ll hit some balls while I’m working just to check my swing on video but if I don’t get to it… I can do it the next week.
What’s funny is the people I know well that go there constantly, when the actual season starts…. They’re still horrible. It’s not like playing all winter
Indoors helped. The indoor game is a “form” of golf…. Not real golf.
