More and more businesses now are requiring online reservations or appointments.
I ask some places why I can't call and order takeout, and they say, "We have an app for that now. Have you downloaded our app?" No, I've not downloaded your damned app. Why do I need an app?
Same thing trying to get a haircut. I walk in off the street, sign my name on the check-in sheet, and sit in the waiting area. Then people just walk right in and go straight to the barber chair, like I'm there on a career-day field trip and merely observing.
You know what I miss? The old days. You'd just show up. You'd sit. You'd eat or get your haircut. No passwords, no apps, no confirming your reservation 17 times in 3 emails. We're living in the age of instant everything and yet I have to schedule a haircut like it's a root canal!
It's maddening! Stop this madness!
