LBlack14 I have been starting on one side, and working my way across. I find it easier to continue to see my line, then I don't have to try to remember which way I started in the middle.
One of the guys marked on the basket right where the ends of the reel are. That has been a help also. I have discovered that if I walk on the line I'm cutting while watching my end point I do a better job of making straight passes. Maybe that is just me though.
Nice to know that I've been using the best starting point. Thank you for the tip! I really appreciate it.
I know that I'll get better with more practice/ walk mowing. At some point I figure it will be the same with the triplex, and fairway mower.

I had no idea people even walk mowed greens anymore. We used to do it way back in the day at the small course I started at but now it looks like most places use riders to mow greens.

We use both. They torture these young guys, in the summer. That's part of why nobody ever comes back, the next year. That and the lies they tell to get people to accept jobs, including to me. I can't get out of here fast enough.

colej we walk mow 3x a week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We normally have 2 guys leapfrog around and get all the greens done.
That said, the Valley Club of Montecito walk mow greens as well. I think they have enough guys to run 6 walkers, then again, they also trailer the walk mowers to each green. They don't bother putting the wheels on. They do have something in place of the wheels that helps them get the walker onto the trailer, it just doesn't interfere with mowing at all.

We had one just like the 2nd pictured unit in our last house. It was in SWMBO'S sewing room in the basement. Grandkids loved it. Still an outstanding space-saving invention.

We had a balmy 18°.
3 Amigos and myself cut, loaded and hauled honeysuckle, all day. They may be illegal as hell, but I love those guys!!

Walterjn I got to see a vid of this. I have seen it done on TGC late at night when the cast is on site waxing poetic about the day when at .major venues, but that is about it. Typically several guys humming along with what look like a push mower meets a fertilizer gizmo.

All along lake Erie got hammered, from Cleveland to Buffalo and then some. Lake effect snow. The band of snow just hung there. With the lake not being froze over the wind just picks up that moisture and drops it.
