Yipsy Steak is ridiculously priced.

Any and all beef is, but 1 steak(in my stores) costs more than I made hourly when working.
And I'm of the thinking that ground beef is not all that 'beefy' any more. More like ground scraps from a cobbler's workbench.

Prices are so out of control I routinely consider sampling the dogs' treats which are a much cheaper option.

If they look good. Smell good. They gotta taste good. That last hurdle's the highest.

Have tried all the local meat markets, Sam's club has the best Ribeyes period. If you pick them out yourself you must pick the ones with the most marbling. Grill them on my Weber to right at 145 degrees with instant read thermometer. Actually like a little flare up. Adds great flavor. Been buying them there for years and with only a few exceptions they are tasty and tender, plus they have the lowest price on ribeyes. Don't waste your money on strip steaks, yuck.

Most people ruin their steaks by cooking them on the BBQ, but they probably dont know better.

you will rarely find a top resto that cooks them this way.

Flattop or cast pan is by far the best way....some will finish on the grill to give it some caramelization and those fancy grill marks.

i dont eat a lot of steak but haven't cooked a steak on the BBQ in years and doubt i ever will again. Save the Cue for those tough cuts ......

The only way to fly when making a steak is in a pan with lots and lots of butter with rub in the butter base and reapplication of rub on top as it cooks in the butter + rub base.

When the steak is done, pour the butter + rub remnants on top of steak for an extra little treat.

I want another steak. Juices flowing. Going to find a rub with pineapple (considering several) and add that to the smoky bourbon and sweet and salty base.

Steak is good any way you make it but when in my control I can't do without the cooking it in butter and rub part.

There is a golfbuzz get together. Perhaps, there should be one for steaks.

When I go to a restaurant I generally order something I don't eat at home, like prime rib. I do steak at home once per week.

I was at Costco two months ago for my hearing aids and picked up some steaks while there. The steaks are package about 5 per pack and I got two packs of strips and two packs or ribeyes. They are at least an inch thick. I package them individually in zipper freeze bags. So far I have eaten one of each and although they were as tender as usual the taste was lacking, just kind of bland. I have never had this happen before with Costco meat. I think I spent about $300 on the meat. I am really disappointed. I did get some of the Yellowstone Smoke Bourbon rub mentioned earlier. Maybe this will perk them up. 😕

Liberal amounts, Rick. Liberal amounts. I assume in an air fryer you don't use butter? Defeats the purpose. If it doesn't do it for you, try it pan-fried with butter.

I just finished my first attempt at cooking a ribeye on my Nuwave Bravo air fryer oven. This thing is much too smart so I just started with a simple attempt. I preheated the oven at 450° on the air fry setting. While it heated I coated the steak on both sides with the Yellowstone Smokey Bourbon rub. I coated the broiling rack and pan with olive oil and put it in on the lowest rack to preheat. The preheating went quick and I put the steak in on the rack with temperature probe in the center. It read 55°. Medium rare goal it 135°. At about 90° I turned the steak and hit both side with some olive oil mist. When the temp got to 135° I pulled it out and put it on a plate to rest a bit. It looked wonderful with a nice color but not charred. I cut it open and it was perfectly pink medium rare. It was so tender you could cut it with a fork. And the Yellowstone seasoning was very good. It was not overwhelming and added a subtle hint of a smoky bourbon flavor. I have been grilling on a Weber gas grill for 45 years and I have never cooked one on the grill as well as this turned out. This was steakhouse grade A. My faith in Costco meat is renewed. People have been telling me how great Air Fryers are. So far I am amazed. And tomorrow I have half of that ribeye left for a lunch sammich. 😋

Love steak. The piping hot cast iron skillet in the oven method is very very good by the way.
