  • Tommy Armour Forged Silver Scot Blades??

Came across a 5-Gw 7 club set of these with the blue insignia that was barely played and sat for years, grips and shafts are like new, Mid Launch 6.0 rifles with all the perfect labels. He did have lead tape on all that is a bear to get the last layer off, only removed one so far. Want to sell them and get a fair value but everywhere I look they are very under valued. They are just too much for this geezer but they are sure sexy and after cleaning will look brand spanking new. I stole the pics here so not my set but wanted you to see them for condition and model. Want to turn asap so any info on them would be appreciated as always, Todd. Cell # if needed 414-531-6737.

If I remembered correctly, the set was around $200 brand new ( 3-PW ). Not sure if the shaft was an upgrade or not.
I almost went for a set because of the price point but having 5 sets of blades already at the time, pulled me back.

Heat the lead tape. Should peel off easily after a bit.

Nice looking sticks! May not be that old though; DSG was selling TA irons a few years back. Can't recall if they had the blades.

Might try posting them on Facebook, Golf Club Traders section.

Had the cb's. Best forged clubs I ever hit and I'm not a forged guy, but I'd play those there with pride! The shafts were stock option.

Those were I believe the last sets released by TA as an independent company before becoming a Sports Authority house brand. Beautiful though and pretty well regarded. Might have a hard time getting much for them unless you find a hard core TA aficionado looking to collect.

I think those are the ones from about 10 years ago. Release is correct as I'm almost certain they were only $200 for the set when they were released with a trio of matching wedges being something like $70. I don't think they were actually forged thought but actually just a cast blade, though I could be mistaken.

I think your better off playing them. They look beautiful!.

The unfortunate part is they are not undervalued...like half the pristine craps I have lying around for 10 years...just old and worthless for the most part.

Like I said, you'd be better off enjoying them. Could always put them on eBay for a high price and hope, like someone said, you'll find a TA collector that might pay what what you want

You guys are great. They do have forged stamped clearly. Think ill take them to ebay for whatever i can get since there are only a couple there. Thanks much guys

Any chance these are still available for sale?

Sorry sold but thanks. Have set of like new Golfsmith forged Tour Cavity on GD YS-I 75s graphite and set of Infinity 302 steel stiff. Thx.

a year later

I still have a set, brand new...3-pw. R300 with brand new red/black multi compound grips...

tricky, welcome to the forum. Reviving a year old thread is an interesting introduction.

I saw a set of OLD TA blades yesterday, had TT shafts painted to look like wood and leather wrap grips ( completely shot), also a set of 845s, 2-P, plus S and 60* with R flex shafts. Just couldn’t justify more stuff kicking around, I wouldn’t use them much if at all, so there’s no point to me. They were at Goodwill, so the price was right, but I left them for the next guy.
