Par4QC azgreg All these guys stepped up in a major way and got themselves onto this team." Wish I had the film that shows how Colin did this....'stepped' up. I must have missed the part where he picked himself up after falling flat on his face. All season.
Spuzz darpar You're no Martha Stewart! I'm no "insider" either, hence the quotes. However, he should have picked himself, imo.
darpar Spuzz 20 years ago I totally agree, it would've probably worked back then. But today, the Ryder Cup has just gotten way too big for somone/anyone to try to do both....he made the right call.IMO
sdandrea1 OMG, Cantlay. He'll be great for team unity π He's a great player and will score us some points, but geez..... he's soooo slooooowww, he started last Sunday's round with no beard. Had a full beard by the 18th hole.
Spuzz sdandrea1 he started last Sunday's round with no beard. Had a full beard by the 18th hole. LOL He may have to start his singles match on Friday to finish during TV time Sunday. :/

ode Wow ... Basically chalk ......that is surprising. I would have went with McNealy and left off Morikawa or Cantlay but both those guys have tremendous upsides and good putting. Cantlay is easy not to like *unless it's the Ryder Cup....then I am a fan!
Par4QC ode Wow ... Basically chalk ......that is surprising. I think he was 'told' who was going to be on the team.
sdandrea1 ode Cantlay is easy not to like He'd better not wander out alone at night anywhere near the opposing team members...... He probably got picked as a "piss off the opponents" strategy.
KCee azgreg When I worked on LI I drove over that way a # of times and they were always lined up to play. I always heard you needed to camp out to have any shot at getting on. Last time I camped out was for U2 tickets in the mid 80's.
ode KCee I remember the days of people lining up at the "box office"... or other ticket sales places/wherever there was a Ticketmaster. I only did this (sort of) x1 when the Bucks had the big 3 and made a deep run, eventually losing to the 76ers in the conf finals. Went to one game in each series because I wanted to be there. Single ticket for one of the games against the 6ers .....ended up being first row upper deck right on the aisle. That entailed me going to the library and using the Internet and hitting the refresh button until the tickets were released and I could reserve oneπ
azgreg KCee Many years ago in Phoenix it was teh same way at the munis. I'd get to teh course at 4:00 in the morning and would be 10th in line behind a couple of campers.
Bravopilot KCee Always thought do the players waiting in line early and for hours then decide to play from the tips since might be the only time they get on. I know They have signs warning people how hard it is, do they prevent players?? They must have some @Typhoon like Course Marshalls there.
Weirfan azgreg Same here. A friend would line up in the middle of the night with a sleeping bag and lawn chair to get a tee time for us at one "desirable" course
