I actually don't understand the attraction myself. They're not shiny, they're shaped weird, there's angles everywhere. I think it dates back to my Dad's brand new PING Karsten 1s he got in the early 70s (I still have that set) and the success I had with them and then when the Eye 2s came out. I think somewhere in my brain there's some locked-in cells that think THAT'S what an iron is supposed to look like. The other attraction for me is the feel and performance. It's pretty hard to hit anything other than high, straight, soft landing shots.
