You bought a shaft, presumably because of it's playing characteristics. I am assured that is correct because you bought the shaft alone from classified ads.
I asked, simply, if you liked that shaft for a reason,.... and I don't care if it was price, color length or whatever.
- Do you believe that the shaft that you felt strongly enough to purchase was meant to be played in the state that it is in right now?

The answer is no.
Not knowing EXACTLY how that shaft was produced, either pre-preg flag rolled or (hopefully not as it would be far worse) Filament wound, you have, conservatively over 1,000 graphite fibers destroyed.
By destroyed I mean, they no longer are adhered to the rest of the shaft.
The short answer to your question "it it toast?"
