Typhoon it’s the same thing as getting hammered at concerts, sporting events, etc. Alcohol has become a part of our society, especially to the younger generation. You drink because you are happy or having fun, you drink because you are sad, mad, bored, lonely or in a group. You drink because you are going out with friends or you stay in and have some drinks. You drink because you’re having fun on the course, you drink because you’re playing like shit. The reasons to drink are endless, if you are looking, and somebody is always there to reinforce your idea and do it with you. I think it’s just an escape from the reality of an unsettled life and it’s a rampant issue.
I was a drinker for 18 years, there weren’t a lot of days I missed having at least a couple of drinks and even when I was planning to not drink, I found reasons to. So, I “get it”, but I’m also far happier to sit here today and tell you I rarely have a drink anymore and if I never have another, it won’t be a problem. I got caught in a shitty loop, glad to have finally stepped out of it.
