Stu1961 Fill the bag with hybrids?
Whatever it takes. π. As I've aged, my ego has "softened", my shafts are lighter, my tee boxes are closer to the green, my scores are lower and golf is FUN!
There are LARGE groups of players across the world playing golf with hickory shafted original clubs that are over 100 years old. Some are restorations, some are new replicas. Many of those guys are OLD and still are scratch handicappers. I've met and played hickory golf with them. One can enjoy the game without drinking the OEM kool-aid.
I'm not saying that the new stuff isn't good, I'm just saying it isn't NECESSARY.
P.S. I have a short set of PXG 0211 irons. π
