sdandrea1 Are all the modern offerings loft jacked thin faced irons that work well only for fast swings? Who's making geezer irons? My driver speed yeilds 175 to 195 total distance.
I did an experiment a Minimalist set of irons using used Cobra LTDx 6i 23.5 deg. PW 41.5 deg. and an Aerojet head 8i 31 deg. So, 6i, 8i, PW and added a Cobra SnakeBite Versatile grind 52 deg 8 bounce. KBS Max Lite steel my preference is steel for better MoI heft match. They are off the rack spec upright and massively jacked. Using a 2 piece distance ball I don't notice any spin issues. Those 4 irons with a driver 919THI 11* 43.50" and a Yar putter for 6 clubs is about all I have been using the last 2 months and works well for a 2700 yard 9 that I walk/carry and play. The LTDx and Aerojet heads have the same Powershell design, same specs, feel like butter to me and as easy a game improvement irons as there are on the market. You can find them from time to time as used heads on eBay. I have $100 in all 4 irons and built to my specs. I don't find much better out there and I have worked on all the new modern mass marketed major brand iron heads and they all seem decent nothing better over one from another.
