Typhoon I don’t know what people are thinking when they buy a p790 driving iron (2 iron). First off, you need clubhead speed to hit one. And anyone I see with that speed can’t hit anything straight.
For those who are playing golf in conditions where hitting the ball high is most efficient/effective, I agree - there's nothing that a driving iron allows you to do that can't be done better or more easily with a hybrid or fairway wood. For the conditions that I play in fairly regularly (links turf with a decent bit of breeze), though, a driving iron can be more effective, even for those less endowed with clubhead speed - the lower and stronger ballflight makes the results a bit more predictable.
