If you guys are interested, I could run a knock-out pool like I did at FGI for March Madness. The way it works is simple:
1) For each round, you pick one team to advance. Picks must be made prior to start of any play in said round. There are no restrictions on what team you pick. You can even pick the same team for every round if you want to. ("First four" or "play-in games" are NOT part of the pool, so we don't pick a team for the Tuesday or Wednesday games; you can pick any of those teams in any of the later rounds if you desire.)
2) If the team you picked loses, you are out of the pool. If they win, you submit your pick for the next round prior to the start of play.
3) Points are scored by the SEED NUMBER of the teams you pick. If you pick, for example, Villanova to win their first-round game and they do, you only get 1 point. If you pick Wichita State and they win, you get 10 points.
4) Winner is the person who goes the farthest and/or has the most points. In other words, if two participants each chose correctly all the way and picked the championship game correctly, point totals would determine the winner. However, if one guy gets to the final game with 65 points and the other only has 12, but the guy with 65 picks the wrong team in the championship game, the guy with 12 points wins, because of rule number 2 ("if the team you picked loses, you are out of the pool"). Can't win a pool that you are not in.
Finally, the picks are made for "bragging rights" only. No money is bet or exchanged. I will not be awarding a prize like a dozen Titleists, or whatever, but if somebody else wants to foot the bill for something like that, I'm happy to announce who won it.
Anybody want to play?
