ode I don't know all of them either. The committee says she was born a woman, but has genetic characteristics of both sexes. Such things do happen and you certainly can't blame the person it happens to, but it is terribly unfair to a woman without that biological advantage and who has done all of her training and fighting against other woman without that biological advantage. Weight class does not do all of the evening out as generally speaking pound-for-pound, men are more powerful and faster.
You do have genetic imbalance even among same sexes. When I boxed I was 5'7" at 147 pounds. Most of my opponents were 3 - 5 inches taller than me, which gave them a tremendous reach advantage, and usually in speed as well. But I had the power advantage and that evened things out in long fights where I could hope to tire a good fighter down or in short fights where they just made a mistake in exposing themselves. But as far as I can tell, the fighter with the y chromosome seems to have a strength, height, and speed advantage over the opponents in her weight class.
