So I was actually working at my computer last night when the wife flipped on the Oscar broadcast, only to hear the first words out of Chris Rock's mouth do nothing but talk about racist white people and how racist the Oscars are.
I was only listening, but I made one comment to the wife, which was, "Look, if that [expletive] is going to do nothing but race bait, I already would have turned that crap off. There is no need for this sort of [expletive] at the Oscars or any other ceremony that is supposedly dignified."
To which she turned the channel. I then later commented to her, "If blacks folks want to make everything about race, then I suggest they get their own awards ceremony and called it the Black Oscars or whatever."
As a disclaimer, I don't run the Oscars, and I honestly don't give two farts about who gets what award, because it is mostly politicized anyway. I just get so sick and tired of everyone getting all bent out of shape because a certain stereotype of a person, based on skin color, language, sex, or whatever other determiner you can come up with felt snubbed. Like we say in golf, if you want to get invited to more tournaments, like the Masters, play better.
