Mattyv from an outsiders perspective. The two of them, seem to have been good human beings. I am a pool player and Newman movies have always had a place in my heart. Redford and Newman in The Sting was such a good movie. Both were class acts and I wish the world had more of them.
Yes…. And I loved The Hustler. Liked a lot of both their movies. My favorite Paul Newman movie was a lesser known movie, one he did in 1994 Nobody’s Fool with Jessica Tandy, Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith.
One example of Redford’s class act was back in 1983 when he was filming The Natural his daughter’s boyfriend was murdered.
He flew back to be with his daughter at the funeral. He also hired private security for the deceased boyfriend’s family. He was very good to them in their time of need.
