GimC Cranberry Valley in Cape Cod? I'm playing there for the first time next week. Any tips?
Yes in Harwich. Grew up there and have played it many times since it opened in 1974. Tips? Sure....... Keep it in the fairway. lol
It's a tree lined New England style course. But not terribly tight. It does have a few parallel holes with trees in between so if you get out of position your not in jail. #1 and #9 / #2 and #8 come to mind.
Years ago it did rank as one of the 50 best public courses.
The Par 3's are fairly long. Depending what tee you play. Hole # 4 is ~ 188 yards. Hole # 17 is ~ 200 yards. The 18th hole is basically a horseshoe double dogleg. Very unique.
The #18 green is basically straight thru the woods to the right of the tee box. Hit your drive straight out and if you can hit it high and long over the trees and you can cut a lot off.
Otherwise just hit your second shot as the architect designed it straight across and then hit your third down on the green. Have fun it's a great course and usually in great shape.
My wife was up there recently (we're in Florida now) at my nephew's wife's baby shower. She brought me home a few gifts.
