My father-in-law turned 100 back in January.. It was great to be there to celebrate with him. A couple years back he got pulled over for speeding not far from his house. He handed the cop his license and registration, and the cop noticed his date of birth (1924), handed him back his stuff and said, “sorry for the inconvenience.:: you be safe.” 😁👍🏼

    I often think about that......My grandmother was born in 1876 and lived until 1970. She was 94 when she passed away, and used to tell us stories about riding in a horse-drawn wagon (her father was a farmer), a one-horse open sleigh, etc. She saw the invention of the automobile, the airplane, telephone, television, etc., etc. I often wonder
    which generation has seen or will see the most significant changes......

        We celebrated my Mom's 90th birthday on Saturday (it's actually tomorrow). All of her children and grandchildren were there as were some friends and several nieces and nephews.

        BTW, my Mom still plys golf!

          Spartan that's awesome. My Dad played till 93. I still remember his last round, he shot a 43 for 9.
          Edit for typo: He shot 43 not the original 53 I posted. He'd kill me if he knew I told someone he shot 53, lol

            fatshot yea, he talks about getting ice delivered to the house, listening to the radio shows as their only entertainment and crazy stuff like that.
            I don't think we can make enough advancements going forward to match what they've seen unless AI really does all the things some people claim.

              PA-PLAYA lol, my Dad quit driving at 93. Just didn't make sense to pay car insurance, upkeep etc to drive to the corner a couple times a week to get donuts. My FIL is a stud at his retirement place because he still drives at 87.

                  I'm 72 and have outlived my Dad's age at his death. Mom made it to 86. Both were smokers and drinkers and I'm neither. "I plan on living forever........so far so good".🤣

                  Those of you who still have your parents on the planet with you are blessed, IMO. Cherish it. Hearing about all these birthdays being celebrated by folks in their 90s and + is inspiring. I really miss my folks and am living the dream being able to spend quality time with my adult children and all the grands.❤️

                    sdandrea1 Very nicely stated. I agree. My parents were 43 & 42 when a car crash took their lives. Still sucks today. Not sure grandkids are in my future but love being around my boys. Why I moved.
