KCee If I'm doing it right my eyes are just inside my line.
Reason I asked, in my putter trials I've found (SBST stroke) the shorter the putter (face balanced) and the more my eyes are toward or over the line, I have a tendency to take the putter outside the line on short putts also. This results is a pull or cutting across the ball.
Like you, on longer putts my stroke is longer, more flowing and I do not cut across the ball.
Some corrective methods that have worked for me:
Longer length putter (34" length vs 33")
Thinner grip
Putter suiting a stronger arc or non-face balanced putter
Keeping right elbow closer to my side during the stroke
Heavier putter head and counter balanced
Why so many options? After using a long putter for 18+ years, I'm re-learning many things I forgot or thought I knew about using a traditional length putter. Lots of trial and error.
