Played with a good young high school / maybe early college young golfer and his dad today. The kid used the Aimpoint method. That is fine, I've seen several use it.
However, this guy would straddle his line all the way to the hole. On a 5 foot putt, he'd start around his ball, then move up 18 inches, then move up 18 inches, then stand around the hole....then turn around and do the same thing back.
And even stranger and more annoying....if someone else was lining up their putt, the kid would start his straddling shuffle, and if you weren't making your stroke, he'd go right up and straddle the hole - standing right in everyone else's line.
I pulled back from a few times I was ready to make a stroke and stared at him. Not sure he got the message though. Nice young man - but I hope this is not standard Aimpoint etiquette.
