I just sold my set of ie-1 irons. Great irons! 431 steel is so soft! I could go over mine with a scotch brite and they would look like brand new.

Now for the blue… I hated it as well and stripped it off. Sprayed it on the blue, let it sit for a while and used a tooth pick to scrape it off. Only thing I left was the black PING. Looked 1000 times better.

I would wait until you decide for sure that you are going to keep these before you mess with the blue. Keeping them original would make it easier to move them on if you decide not to keep them. Ask Steve. 🤣

For sure Rick…I am honestly not planning to mess with the emblems…I am just going to smack whitey with them this weekend…then if they are legit I will box them up and ship them home.
