bad9 Is it larger than the original Tour TC hybrids? It looks smaller. The HyWay is huge although I kind of like the Super Hybrid look for a lower lofted club.

KCee they missed the boat on the HyWay IMO......would have made more sense to offer it as a low lofted option vs the lofts they offered it in, basically a 7 and 9 wood is what they are but with a super deep face and essentially a fwy wood profile! 2 and 3h or 4w/6w lofts would have.been $ with those!

KCee Its actually a bit bigger and smaller than the HyWay. Current Tour TC 5 on the left and above and IST right and below in the attached pics.

colej I tried to hit it 3 times and sculled it all three not not a review. Playing again tomorrow so hopefully I will be swinging better. Stay tuned.

bad9 looks like ICT is much bigger but the tour tc has a taller face height. Hard to tell heel to toe based on pics.

bad9 You’ll be fine. I had a test TS4 6 iron that I kept thinning. Scared as hell I made the wrong choice. Once I made the full set they all worked fine.

Played again today and hit the ball better. In 4 shots I used the IST for I would consider all were acceptable. It was probably marginally shorter than the ST-H model it replaced but I did build it .5" shorter. Trajectory wasn't too high and it felt good. I really like the sound, much more muted than the Tour TC and the other KE4 hybrids I have tried. In think I'm really going to like this one.

How do you hit it hit wise? Would it worth experimenting with a shimmed .335 shaft?

colej I thought about experimenting shimming a wood shaft but I'm thinking the head weights are too heavy to make it practical, maybe with a really light shaft. I like that they made these heavier than their other hybrids but it does make this type of experiment less doable. The other factor is cost. Prices have gotten that it's harder to rationalize experimentation. If I could pick a head up cheap over the winter I do have Xcaliber SL FW and FW shafts I can experiment with😀

colej I've hit both enough now that I'll keep them. I tend to hit them a little lower than the Tour TC previous. In hindsight I should have kept one of the KE4 ST-H 24° heads and experimented with a woodcraft in it.

colej As golf season here is in its last week I have been pondering winter experiments. I looked at the Wishon Hybrids and the EQ 1X ones actually weigh more than comparable lofts of the IST. The EQ can be built as normal lengths or adding weight to make them one length and use .335 shafts. I might figure out what tipping to do to my Xcaliber FW shafts and build up the IST 23 and 25 using them. I have shims already. the Rogue 9w I have is 230g and I tipped it 1". Any thoughts/suggestions?

I agree regarding making the weights of these heads heavier.

I asked on the GW forum if there were any plans on adding a higher loft to this hybrid line. Much to my surprise Britt says they are adding a 29° loft option that will be out next summer. I’m actually a bit shocked.

I did the same with asking to add a 23* 9 wood to the ist pro line and they said “great idea’, and I was told later they will. Nice they listen to the ‘experts’

Nat I was shocked because they have never brought out stuff that was asked for. For years I asked them to bring out a 7w(21°) in the KE4 2nd gen (which to me is still the best fw head they have made) and they eventually brought out the HiWay which was just odd looking and not surprising it didn't last.

I think it’s worth a shot but at a shorter length will you lose any swing speed?

230 grams I’d trim the FW for a 7 wood head.

colej The IST 23° is 250g and the 26° is 258g with 8g weights. I can reduce each by 6g using 2g weights if needed. I figure I could tip the shaft in the 23 an extra 1" and the 26 and extra 1.5", the Xcal FW can be tipped up to 3.5" total. Playing lengths of 39.5" and 39" I think would work or maybe a little shorter. I might pull stuff apart and give it a shot in the next few weeks.
