PGA Championship Contest
I live 40 miles from Valhalla and there is still a lot of local news coverage of the Scotty incident. The mayor is calling for a full investigation to make sure proper police procedures were followed. There is also a lot of press saying many of the upper ranks in the LMPD think the case might have been "over charged" and suggesting reducing or dismissing the charge. Supposedly there is a witness who said he saw the officer running after Scotty's car and tripped. Supposedly there is a traffic cam video just discovered. Apparently there is a meeting today to discuss the charges.

I read something somewhere that the cop was a traffic fatality investigator. Scottie said he got mixed signals from the cops. One he thought was waving him around and the other (traffic fatality cop) holding him up.
I said from the get go that this was an over reaction / overcharge. This will never go to trial and ultimately will get dismissed. But, we shall see. Bad look for Louisville cops.
More surprising was apparently none of the cops watch golf. They asked who they arrested?
Sneakylong Bad look for Louisville cops.
If this is it for you, then you have not been paying attention to any national news the past 3-4 years!!
Scottie is lucky the cop fell down, otherwise, he might have been shot several times. And not much done about it.

The yahoo cop Gillis didn’t turn on his body camera. He is in violation of Louisville police policy. Gillis will receive corrective action. The mayor and chief sounded sympathetic to Scheffler and not the gung ho cop.
Again, will be shocked if this doesn’t get tossed. Yeah, attaching yourself to a vehicle entering Valhalla at less than 5 mph with a clearly marked PGA authorized car is not the smartest move.
Any injuries Gillis received are a result of a dumbass decision he made. If Scheffler were a wanted serial killer Gillis would be a hero. However, arresting the number one golfer in the world for not stopping entering Valhalla because of your ego driven authority, is classified as (again) dumbass.
No gold shield badge for you!!!
sdandrea1 I need to stay off the Internet and news channels. I'm thinking Gunsmoke and Cheyenne reruns.......
Some friends had his elderly mother staying with them and she sat in her room most of the day watching Andy Griffith reruns with the sound turned up. They both said they had the whistling theme intro song burned into their brains.
sdandrea1 Cheyenne?? Not heard of that show and I'm old.
Louisville PD video.
Sneakylong Not sure what is to be learned by this video, as it shows SS being stopped and arrested. Surely there is more that transpired earlier, as SS says he was told to go through, and LPD says he assaulted an officer with his car. This video on its own is basically useless! Hopefully more transparent info comes out, I.e. clear video footage of the whole thing that can be pieced together!

Yeah, the cop must’ve attached himself to the car before and is not shown on the video. Jeff Darlington of ESPN witnessed the cop doing that. But my guess is no video exists showing it.
The Louisville PD video without the cop being dragged a few feet helps Scheffler imo. He couldn’t have been going over 5 mph. I believe Darlington estimated Scheffler going 10-15 yards before he stopped.
Scottie must’ve been thinking why is this nutjob hanging on to my car. Again, the video shows a pretty innocuous stop with the cop going a little over the top (unintended rhyme). lol
